'Shaina' is an outstanding little dwarf tree with beautiful dense foliage. This cultivar grows upright and has two toned red foliage that sits upon short shoots. 'Shaina' grows into a globe shaped tree that reaches a height of 5 ft. in approximately 10 years. The leaves emerge bright red in the spring, become a dark purple red for the summer, and turn a bright crimson color in the fall. 'Shaina' holds its tremendous color through the summer and into the beginning of the fall season. Experts say that 'Shaina' originated as a sport from the colorful 'Bloodgood', Japanese maple.
