Pendulum Julian is a striking dark orange dissectum. This trees orange leaves contrast beautifully with the trees green colored bark. Pendulum Julian’s young leaves emerge with a bronze green color with green veining. The leaves become deep purple red in the summer. This color holds well into the summer eventually changing to a rusty green with a reddish undertone. In the fall the crimson-orange color is very vivid. This tree is very cold tolerant. It is important to stake Pendulum Julian early in order to reach their height potential. Pendulum Julian can reach heights of 6-10 feet and has a mounding shape. Older Pendulum Julian have survived -18 degrees Celsius even when covered in ice. This incredible cultivar is thought to have come from the world famous Yokohama Nursery located in Japan.
