'Palmatifolium' is a very beautiful selection that has distinct foliage which most attractive in all seasons but it truly spectacular in the fall when it brings out its finest array of oranges, yellows, and reds shaded with crimson. Palmatifolium fall colors are not only spectacular, they also last for a long period. The large, bright green leaves have an almost transparent appearance and do well in full Sun. Palmatufolium's leaves have 11 long lobes with a sharp narrow tip. Its leaves can measure up to 10 cm. in diameter. Palmatifolium is a somewhat rare tree that is not often seen. Larger specimens are found in the Esveld Aceretum in the Netherlands. Palmatifolium is a strong and sturdy upright tree form with a rounded canopy. This outstanding cultivar is the only Acer Shirasawanum we grow. Palmatifolium is unique, colorful, and is known to accept a wide range of weather conditions.
